The Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne, Mr. Robert Doyle, has sent the following message for Halal Expo Melbourne being held on Sunday 3rd of Arpil 2016, from 10am to 8.30pm at Melbourne Showground, Melbourne.
‘On behalf of the City of Melbourne, welcome to the 2016 Halal Expo, held for the first time in the world’s most liveable city.’ 
‘Here in Melbourne, we pride ourselves on our diverse and inclusive society. We are home to people from more than 200 countries, who speak 260 languages and dialects and practice 135 religious faiths. But we are one Melbourne.’
‘The Expo is a great way for the Islamic community to showcase their culinary traditions with the broader community.’
‘More than 10,000 people are expected to explore the world of Halal food through more than 100 exhibitors; cooking competitions; rides and games.’
‘Enjoy the tastes, sights and smells of the largest Islamic event outside of Eid festivities.’
