ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (Feb. 13, 2015) – Pakistan and Australian defence chiefs have agreed to increase mutual cooperation and secrutiy related collaboration during 7th round of Defence and Security conference. The visiting Australian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin held two important meetings in Rawalpindin this week and discussed wide-sprectrum of veneues of cooperation.
Australian Chief of Defence Force (CDF) called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on February 12, 2015 and discussed the challenges faces by Pakistan and Australia in countering threats of terrorism.
According to an official statement duringng the meeting, matters of mutual interest including measures to further enhance defence and security cooperation between both the countries came under discussion.
Earlier, on arrival at General Headquarters, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented Guard of Honour to the dignitary. Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhda.
Earlier on February 10, soon after his arrival in Pakistan Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin, Chief of Defence Forces(CDF) Australia, called on General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
The meeting was follow up of 7th round of defence and security talks and the 4th round of 1.5 track security dialogue in which matters related to security and mutual cooperation were discussed. -PPA News
