KATIE MULLENS HOSTS COMMUNITY MEET & GREET IN WENTWORTHVILLE

Tribune Report, 16 Nov 2024; Katie Mullens, the Liberal federal candidate for Parramatta, hosted a community meet-and-greet session alongside Hon. Dan Tehan MP, Shadow Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, at the Grevillea Room of Wentworthville Community Centre, NSW.

The event brought together representatives from community services, social service organizations, immigration advocacy groups, and local leaders, including a prominent journalist and representative of Multicultural NSW, Syed Atiq ul Hassan.

Participants voiced pressing concerns, focusing on issues such as domestic violence, women’s affairs, delays in visa processing, and the need for stronger social service support for vulnerable individuals. Attendees emphasized the prolonged struggles faced by visa applicants across various categories, urging for reforms to streamline processes.

Hon. Dan Tehan MP attentively listened to each speaker, acknowledging the significance of the matters raised. “Many of the issues highlighted today require urgent attention,” he remarked. He further assured the attendees that a future Liberal government would prioritize these concerns, pledging to introduce targeted and effective policies to address the genuine needs of the community.

This session underscored the importance of proactive engagement between political representatives and the community, fostering dialogue on policies that impact everyday lives.
