Media Release by Esther Lozano, ECCNSW, 11 Dec 2024: The Ethnic Communities Council of NSW (ECCNSW) condemns in the strongest possible terms recent incidents of violence against the Jewish community both in Melbourne and in Sydney.
The attack on the Addas Israel Synagogue in Melbourne earlier this week constituted a direct attack on not only one community but the very fabric of our multicultural pluralistic society.
A recent spate of attacks on cars in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs show a new low in these attacks and the Ethnic Communities’ Council reiterates its condemnation of all Ethnically based and race-based violence and intimidation.
We congratulate the government for its strong stance against these acts and stand with the people affected in this time of need.
Editor’s Note:
Tribune International (Australia) supports the statement issued by ECCNSW and strongly condemns all forms of discrimination, violence, and unrest in our multicultural and diverse society.
