(Tribune International): The majority of Australians support the government’s decision to deport Novak Djokovic for not complying with the Australian Coronavirus protection policy. I fully support the Australian government’s decision.
Laws and government policies should be fair and equal for all citizens. No one should be treated above the law and government policies. Australia’s democratic parliament and national cabinet pass policies on public issues and interests. These rules and policies are not only for the benefit of all Australians but also to protect foreign tourists and visitors.
International sports personalities are coming to Australia and taking part in different games. In Australia, several Pakistani and other cricketers are participating in current tournaments. English cricket players are currently visiting Australia. It is not a problem for foreigners to visit Australia if in addition to a valid current visa, they also meet the requirements of the current policy regarding their and public protection against Coronavirus.
As a result of the decision made by Australia’s immigration department for Novak Djokovic, it will help special and general foreign visitors intending to visit Australia to understand the significance of Australian policies and requirements for protection from Coronavirus pandemics.
