‘The Chand Raat Eid Festival is an integral component of cultural and religious celebrations in multicultural Australia. The diverse communities participating in this event is testament to the importance of building an understanding and appreciation of all faiths and backgrounds.’

‘I would particularly like to congratulate the head of Chand Raat Eid Festival, Syed Atiq ul Hassan, as the winner of the Premier’s Multicultural Harmony Day 2014. His dedication and commitment has seen the festival grow into one of the most significant annual festivals on our calendar.’

‘In its 16^th year, Chand Raat Eid Festival has gone from strength to strength and in 2014 it is wonderful to see the inclusion of additional Ramadan events across Sydney and in Melbourne.’

‘I extend my best wishes to all the organisers, volunteers and sponsors who make this event truly special and rewarding. I am confident that the Chand Raat Eid Festival will continue to flourish and promote culture, friendship and harmony in our community.’
