‘Chand Raat is an occasion of great excitement and anticipation’; Premier

Sydney (Tribune International); The Premier New South Wales, Hon Mike Baird has sent the following message to the Chand Raat Eid Festival (CREF) 2014’ ‘The Chand Raat Eid Festival has become a permanent fixture on the Sydney Calendar and has grown into an event that is celebrated by the wider community.’ ‘Australians of all backgrounds respect the obligations that Muslims in our community accept during Ramadan. It is a reflection of the harmony and spiritual diversity we enjoy in NSW that we now have a carnival celebrating the end of the fasting and abstinence required during the holy month of Ramadan.’ ‘Chand Raat, the Eve of Eid, is an occasion of great excitement and anticipation.
