d processing, shipbuilding and vehicle manufacturing, construction, renewable energy and especially in tourism, Fiji Times reported
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama made this remark at an evening reception with investors in China on Tuesday where he noted the increasing numbers of Chinese visitors to Fiji.
“In fact, seven times more Chinese are now holidaying in our country than five years ago. And there are great opportunities for Chinese investors to cater for this growing market,” Mr Bainimarama said in his address.
“So I encourage you all to explore the opportunities that are available either through our investment arm – Investment Fiji – or our diplomats in China.”
Fijian students, diplomats and workers living in China gathered to welcome Mr Bainimarama, who is leading a delegation to China for an official visit.
Fijian Prime Minister also met with the Fijian community living in China. Mr Bainimarama will hold talks this week with senior Chinese government officials and senior officials from China’s private sector.
