There will be mountains of fun for the whole family, from morning through to night, as Parramatta hosts one of the nation’s biggest Australia Day celebrations.
Parramatta’s Australia Day celebrations will see the spectacular Aerial Carnivale return from 6–10am, the Big Backyard from 12pm–7pm and the star studded, free, Dig 1100 Concert from 6–9pm.
The Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Cr John Chedid, said that Parramatta is the perfect place to celebrate Australia Day.
“There is a fabulous array of quality entertainment suitable for the whole family. Whether it’s Parramatta’s famous mass hot air balloon launch at 6am, kids workshops and live entertainment at the Big Backyard or You Am I performing at the Dig 1100 Concert, Parramatta’s Australia Day will see you partying all day long,” Cr Chedid said.
- 6am–10am: Aerial Carnivale – See the skies fill with colour as a fleet of hot air balloons ascend above the park at 6am.
- 12pm–7pm: Big Backyard – Live entertainment by Mic Conway and the Acca Daiquiris, fascinating historical re-enactments, art and craft workshops, eco experiences, amusement rides and much more.
- 6pm–9pm: Dig 1100 Concert – Headlined by You Am I, also featuring Hungry Kids of Hungary, Barry Morgan as well as the Rock’n Soul Choir. Celebrations conclude with a fireworks finale at 9pm.
