Sydney (Media Release): The Mayor of the City of Canterbury, Cr Brian Robson, was proud of the festivities and community spirit on display at Saturday’s Haldon Street Festival in Lakemba.
“The Haldon Street Festival on Saturday was a magnificent celebration of our community spirit,” Mayor Brian Robson said.
“The day started with a vibrant street parade featuring almost 400 participants from 26 different community groups and schools who were proud to show their love of our City.
“And, it just got better from there. The entertainment which was spread over three stages, entertained, enthralled and excited audiences, who were amazed by the colour, costumes and music performances.
“As always there was an abundance of food, fashion and flair – which is what Lakemba is renowned for.
“Council is proud to present the Haldon Street Festival, because it has such a great spirit and atmosphere and it’s wonderful to see so many happy faces enjoying the festivities,” the Mayor said.
