Sydney (Tribune International, Minns Office Release, 01/06/2020): Labor Shadow Minister for Transport Chris Minns has welcomed Transport for NSW’s recent announcement of an additional 3,300 services across the public transport network in order to maintain social distancing and ease capacity.

Hon Chris Minns MP

“Labor has been calling for additional bus services to be rolled out across Western Sydney since mid-May”, Mr Minns said.

“These new services will ensure that our public transport network remains safe for those vital workers who need it.”

“This means peace of mind for workers who need to travel now that restrictions are easing and school is back. The Government needs to do whatever it takes to keep our transport network safe from COVID-19.”

Mr Minns continued to call for travellers to avoid public transport network if possible and to try and travel outside of peak times.
“People everywhere, whether in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Newcastle or Wollongong have shown such incredible public spirit. It’s thanks to them that our public transport network remains free of COVID-19.”
