Sydney (Tribune International, June 15, 2015): Hon John Ajaka, the Minister for Multicultural Affairs New South Wales has sent the following, today, message for Chand Raat Eid Festival (CREF) 2015 today.

‘It is my great pleasure as Minister for Multiculturalism to welcome everyone to this year’s Chand Raat Eid Festival at Rosehill Gardens.’

‘Events such as this, one of the largest Eid-ul-Fitr festivals in Australia, mark the end of Ramadan and bring together members of the Islamic community from across the globe.’

‘The Chand Raat Eid Festival was last year attended by 20,000 people in a shining example of community harmony and social cohesion.’

‘I hope those who attend the festival this year will be impressed by the quality of entertainment and breadth of cultures that are showcased, from Afghani to Yemeni.’

‘As one of the most multicultural states in the world, the NSW Government is committed to ensuring social harmony. Thanks to the organisers of this year’s festival for bringing this event to our multicultural calendar.’
