Community facilities, sports fields to reopen across Parramatta

Sydney (Tribune International, Council Press Release, 15 June 2020): City of Parramatta Council is reopening its community facilities and sports grounds over the coming weeks, in line with the NSW Government’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

From Monday 15 June, Council’s community facilities – including halls, meeting rooms and community centres – will reopen for bookings to the public with increased health and safety measures in place based on current guidelines. There will be a limit of up to 100 people per venue.

Sports grounds will reopen for outdoor sporting competitions from Wednesday 1 July for both adults and children. Further information can be found on the NSW Office of Sport website.

Also from Monday 15 June, capacity at Council’s pool facilities will be increased from 10 people to 18 people at Epping Aquatic Centre and 12 people at Macarthur Girls High School, in line with NSW Government restrictions.

All facility and sports field users will be required to comply with current public health orders, hygiene and physical distancing conditions while on the premises.

Council will resume taking bookings for its community facilities and sports grounds from Monday 15 June.

Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre

From Tuesday 16 June, the Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre will reopen for limited hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 2pm. No more than 20 visitors will be allowed in the facility at any one time. The Research Library is open for family history and local studies research by appointment only.
