An update from us on COVID-19 – Cumberland City Council

Sydney (Tribune International, Cumberland Council Release, 25 July 2021); Cumberland City Council will face tougher restrictions from today to help stop the spread of the virus. We’ll also benefit from an intensive and targeted roll out of vaccinations. We’re offering support to NSW Health in their efforts to roll out these vaccinations, including the use of our facilities and venues for vaccination hubs.

With the tighter restrictions, it’s critical we all follow these new rules so we can help rein in this outbreak. Our local government area is now under a strict lockdown where you can only leave your home for essential reasons and only ‘authorised workers’ can go to work. See more details on the NSW Health https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/greater-sydney.

We have our business continuity plans in place for our essential services, including for waste and recycling, child care, street cleaning, maintenance and providing meals on wheels for vulnerable people.

You can reach our customer service team during business hours via phone, email or web chat, however, there could be some delays. In keeping our community and our staff as safe as possible by minimising the movement of people throughout our area, some services will not operate to their normal scale.

We understand this is a challenging time for our residents and businesses. We’re here to serve our community and will do everything we can to support NSW Health to get us through this.

We’ll update our web page http://www.cumberland.nsw.gov.au/covid19 and our social media channels regularly. Thanks for your cooperation and patience.
