US CONGRESS REPRESENTATIVES ADVOCATE FOR FAIRNESS IN PAKISTANI ELECTIONS

Report by Syed Atiq ul Hassan, 28 Feb 2024

Sydney (Tribune International, Australia): Congressman Greg Casar and Congresswoman Susan Wild have taken a significant step in supporting the people of Pakistan by circulating a letter

among all 435 Congressmen & Congresswomen and 100 Senators. Representing Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district, Congresswoman Susan Wild, a Democrat, has joined forces with Congressman Greg Casar, who represents Texas’s 35th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The letter they have circulated emphasizes the importance of the United States withholding recognition of a new government in Pakistan until the election results, particularly Form 45s, undergo proper scrutiny, verification, and counting to produce authentic Form-47s. This strategic move underscores the necessity for fair and transparent electoral processes. Pakistani Americans are urged to engage with their Congressional representatives and Senators to request their support by signing onto this letter, which is readily available in all Congressional offices.

Both Congress representatives have demonstrated their support for Pakistanis by condemning the alleged rigging in the February 8, 2024, elections. Congressman Greg Casar, in a comprehensive letter, has outlined various fraudulent methods employed both before and after the elections, including the fabrication of cases against Imran Khan and numerous activists and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

The efforts of Congressman Casar and Congresswoman Wild have included reaching out to all Senators, aiming to secure 100 signatures to formally raise this issue in the US Congress within the next two days. It is imperative for all Pakistanis residing in the US to promptly contact their local Congressmen or Senators and to Greg Casar and Susan Wild to express their endorsement of the letter’s contents and the call for fairness in Pakistani elections.
