Message from Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Consul General of Pakistan In Australia for CREF 2014
‘It is a matter of great pleasure and honour for me to represent and serve the Pakistani community in Australia, whose dynamic and enterprising members successfully organize Chaand Raat Eid Festival (CREF) every year, with great zeal and fervour.’
‘Starting with a single event in 1998 from Lakemba (NSW), the CREF has effectively grown to become a mega multicultural festival in Australia, spanning over seven events and covering both Sydney and Melbourne, since 2013. This is a remarkable achievement on the part of the organizers of CREF, led by Syed Atiqul Hassan, the Chief Organizer. They all deserve commendation and applause.’
‘Last year, on the invitation of the Chief Organizer, I had the opportunity to visit CREF in Sydney Olympic Park. I found it a great family event offering both the elders and the children an opportunity to get together and socialize. It provides lots of entertainments and recreations to the youngsters, particularly the children, both boys and girls. The families enjoy shopping for Eidul Fitr festivities and beyond. In short, CREF is one of the best, and most likely the biggest, multicultural events held in Australia.’
‘I extend my hearty congratulations to the organizers of CREF and wish them all the best in their endeavour to serve the multi-cultural communities in Australia.’
Abdul Aziz Uqaili
