Mayor Henry Barlow of Wyndham City Council, Victoria has given the following message for ‘Chand Raat Eid 
Festival (CREF) 2017′ Melbourne’s event to be held on Saturday 24th of June at Werribee Racecourse, Werribee, Victoria:
‘Wyndham is honoured to have the Chand Raat Eid Festival held in our great City this year.’
‘Chand Raat, the eve of Eid Ul-Fitr, is a momentous occasion for the many Muslims who call Wyndham home, and more broadly across Victoria and Australia. It is a time for us to gather with our friends and family and welcome the new moon as we head in to the month of Shawwal.’
‘The festival, to be held at Werribee Racecourse, will showcase a range of attractions – with a large variety of cuisine from across the world.’
‘Open to people of all religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds, I urge everybody to head down and celebrate Chand Raat Eid on June 24th from 3pm.’
