Free NSW Seniors Week Program at Woolworths

Sydney (Tribune International): Minister for Ageing John Ajaka urged seniors to drop into Woolworths and pick up their free Seniors Week programs to ensure they are aware of the 3,500 events on offer.

Minister Ajaka said Woolworths is also offering a 10 per cent discount day for NSW Seniors Card holders on 20 March.

“The free programs are available in Woolworths stores statewide and contain highlights of events being staged throughout NSW between Saturday 15 and Sunday 23 March,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The free program also has a calendar so seniors can plan their week. My advice is to try something new.

“I encourage you to join your friends and family at a NSW Seniors Week event near you.”

Events include sporting and recreation activities, technology classes, a comedy debate and the Young at Heart film festival.

Woolworths’ Managing Director of Supermarkets and Petrol, Tjeerd Jegen, said he was excited to be part of the largest celebration for seniors in the southern hemisphere.
“Woolworths is extremely proud to support one of the state’s most popular and important events,” Mr Jegen said.
“To celebrate our partnership with NSW Seniors Week, Woolworths is offering NSW Seniors Card holders 10 per cent off at the checkout and online on Thursday 20 March.“This is our opportunity to thank our seniors for the great contribution they have made and continue to make in our community,” he said.
